Packing Plan to travel light. Use soft luggage such as duffel bags for easy stowage. Clothing should be lightweight and comfortable, and of course, remember to pack your bathing suits. The dress code onboard is casual. Remember to pack items such as sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat or visor, bug spray/lotion and as a precaution, motion sickness medication.
TIP: Pack your regulator, dive computer, mask, bathing suit, a change of clothS and essential items in your carry-on bag. This will come in handy in the event that your luggage is delayed.
Diving Paperwork Bring your certification card, including Nitrox certification card if you are Nitrox certified and plan to dive with Nitrox and log book(s) for verification of your dive training and experience. If you have any medical problems, remember to bring a physician's statement authorizing that you are medically able to dive prior to the voyage you will be required to complete and sign a standard Release and Waiver Form.
Trip Insurance We strongly recommend that each guest purchase comprehensive accident, medical, baggage and trip cancellation/interruption insurance when space is reserved. Trip insurance will protect you from financial disappointment in the event unforeseen circumstances prevent the vessel from making its scheduled trip. In the event it is necessary to cancel or interrupt a charter due to weather or any matter beyond the control of the Red Sea live aboard charter, there will be no refund or credit issued. We also recommend diving accident insurance.
In the Event of Emergency You can be contacted in case of Emergency, details will be supplied on how upon confirmation of your charter.
The crew are trained in first aid and diving accident management. The boat is equipped with a complete first aid kit and high capacity oxygen system. Emergency transportation and treatment cost is the responsibility of each guest. We strongly recommend that special divers insurance, such as DAN or PADI, is obtained.
Travel Documents For North American and European community citizens, travel to Egypt, requires a passport valid with 6 month validation from date of entry into Egypt. A tourist visa may be obtained at any of Egypt's port of entry for only $ 15 US.
Australian citizens can apply to the Egypt Embassies in Australia. Marie and I used the one in Sydney and they were very quick and efficient. Cost AU$40 each. All other citizens please inquire at nearest Egyptian Consulate or Embassy.
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED
Equipment provided onboard includes tanks, weights and weight belts. The basic diving equipment required is a regulator, depth and pressure gauge, watch or bottom timer, buoyancy compensation device (BCD), mask, fins, snorkel & safety sausage. We require two light sources for all night dives. Additional recommended equipment:chemical light sticks and dive computer.
Gratuity (Tipping) We prefer that our guests reward our crew based on their performance. If the crew performs to your expectations, may we suggest that a gratuity of approximately 10% of your package price would be considered normal aboard a live aboard dive boat. Payment of gratuities is entirely at the discretion of the guest. It is the policy to pool any collected gratuities and divide these equally among the crew, since we believe no one crew member has the opportunity to give exceptional service without the assistance and support of all other crew members.
Note: Tipping is an expected cost of travelling in many countries of the world and not unusual. Once you get the idea of it, it is fairly simple. For Australians it does feel a bit strange as we do not generally have this custom in Australia.
Travel Assistance

Ten Guidelines for Travelers
You may have seen these humorous guidelines or a version of them over the years.
The original author is unknown, but the point they make is a valuable one. If you're planning a trip, you might want to distribute a copy of these to the divers who will be on that trip It's a light hearted way to remind them to "keep cool" when the inevitable glitches and unexpected problem arise during a trip.
Do not expect to find things to be like at home. You left home to find things different.
Do not take anything too seriously. A carefree mind is a vital to a good vacation.
Do not let other travelers get on your nerves. You paid good money to enjoy yourself.
Do not forget: you are a representative of your country at all times.
Try not to worry because he or she who worries will have no fun.
Remember that few things in life are fatal.
Know where your passport is at all times because a traveler without a passport is a traveler without a country.
As a stranger in a strange land, be prepared to do as its people do.
Do not judge all people of a country by the one person who has given you trouble.
Learn how to say thank you in the language of the country you're visiting. A sincere thank you, along with a smile, doubles the value of any tip you may give
Remember that you are a guest and those travelers who treat their hosts with respect will be treated likewise.
